One summer, poet and playwright Saymoukda Vongsay made her way up and down our East Side street, Payne Avenue, as "The Payne Avenue Poet". Stopping at all of the businesses and community gathering spaces along the way, she wrote poetry inspired by the people and places of historic Payne Avenue.
