EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

EAST SIDE ARTS COUNCIL IS LOOKING FOR A SUMMER INTERN!

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Artmobile program is East Side Arts Council’s most popular summer program. Each summer the Artmobile, a van packed with art supplies, winds through the streets of the East Side of St. Paul to offer free, drop in art classes at a variety of locations across the community. The Artmobile intern is integral to the success of this program, providing assistance with gathering supplies, documenting the days by taking photos and recording comments from participants, and assisting the lead and guests artists throughout the day. The Artmobile internship is an opportunity to experience working with a grassroots arts organization and six local, professional, and diverse artists who together have years of experience teaching the arts, and have a variety of backgrounds in culture and artistic medium.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Document the program by recording demographics of participants

· Document the experience of Artmobile participants by taking photographs of people working on the project, and record comments made by participants, parents, and others involved in the program each day

· Assist in the implementation of art projects and various tasks assigned by the Lead Artist and guest artist as needed

· Organize and load supplies into the van prior to departure each day

An interest in community art is of the utmost importance. The Artmobile intern must possess an interest in working with a diverse community and youth.

This is a paid internship with a stipend of $700 ($100/week for 6 weeks)

2025 dates: July 7 – August 15

Hours are Monday – Friday, 12:15pm – 3:30pm, classes are from 1pm – 3pm

May require lifting up to 25 lbs. Must have reliable transportation to get to the East Side Arts Council office each day (977 Payne Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55130) – the Artmobile leaves from the office to each park daily.
